TIPS, ADVICES, SUPPORT

Pool water filtration

If you use the right chemicals and filtrate sufficiently, you will assure crystal clear water.

Turn the filtration on for minimum of 8 hours daily.

Correct level of pH is between 7,2 - 7,6

When is:

pH < 7,2 use pH+

pH > 7,6 use pH-

Check these values weekly:

pH:

7,2 – 7,6

chlor:
0,6 - 1,0 mg / l

Private area

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS AND THEIR ELIMINATION

Eye and skin irritation and chlorine smell

Reasons

  • pH too gigh or too low
  • presence of chloramine caused by organic waste combined with loose chlorine

Solution:

  • measure and adjust pH (pH+ nebo pH-)
  • shock chlorination (Chlor Chock) eliminates combined Cl and changes it to loose Cl

Rate of residual loose chlorine is rapidly decreasing

Reasons

  • frequent use of pool in stormy weather (high air temperature)
Solution:

Calcite sediments

Reasons

  • pH is too high, calcite hardness is too high

Solution:

  • measure pH and adjust (pH- )

Metal pieces corrosion

Reasons

  • pH is too low

Solution:

  • measure pH and adjust (pH+)

Sedimentary or milky water

Reasons

  • insufficient filtration flow
  • total amount of solid decays is too high
  • pH is too high
  • thick organic waste

Solution:

  • check filtration, perform backward washing
  • dose flocculant (Floculant) to speed the process
  • empty 1/3 to 1/2 water in pool and replace it with fresh water
  • shock chlorination (Chlor Chock)
  • change sand filling if it is older then 2 years

Green and sedimentary water, slippery walls

Reasons

  • presence of algae

Solution:

  • measure pH and adjust if necessary (pH+ nebo pH-)
  • shock chlorination (Chlor Chock)
  • if necessary, repeat shock chlorination up to 24 hours
  • leave filter on constantly, wash and rise regularly
  • if water is still sedimentary, read paragraph about sedimentary and milky water

Clear but coloured water (black, brown, green or pink)

Reasons

  • metalic impurities such as copper, ferrum (iron) or manganese oxidizes in water

Solution:

  • measure pH and ajust to 7,8 (pH+ nebo pH-)
  • treat water with flocculant (Floculant)
  • restore pH to ideal zone: 7,2 - 7,6
  • shock chlorination (Chlor Chock)
  • use preparation against ferrum (iron)
  • repeat treatment if necessary

Foamy surface

Reasons

  • excessive concentration of algicide

Solution:

  • empty water partially and dilute with fresh water, until water stops foaming
  • lower the algicide dosage

Black and felt-like stains

Reasons

  • presence of black algae spravwilng on bottom and on walls

Solution:

    • black algae are very resistant!!!
    • check pH and ajust (pH+ nebo pH-)
    • after 24 hours shock chlorination (Chlor Chock) and repeat every 24 hours
    • clean affected places with brush
    • if black stains are still visible after 3 - 4 hours days of treatment, lower the water level in a way that you can brush stains with 15 % clorine solution
    • do not forget, that chlorine can discolour (burn) the foil

Heating not heating

Reasons

  • bad water flow

Solution:

  • clean skimmer and hair filter (you can read how to clean hair filtere here)
  • wash and rinse sand in filtration (you can read how to wash sand here)
